Message from our Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

My name is Carla McCoy and I am delighted to be writing to you as the newly appointed Principal at Gorton Primary School. I feel extremely honoured and privileged to have been chosen to continue and build upon the success that the school has already achieved.

My philosophy for education is one which is based around the edict of the ‘best by every child’. I hold a strong child-centred approach to teaching, where consistency, praise, encouragement yet challenge are key. Together with the leadership team, we are focused on driving the school towards excellence to ensure every child reaches their full potential and has an enriching education provided by caring and committed staff.

From my experience of leadership within Vantage Academy Trust, I know that a successful and happy school depends on all of us working together so that the changes we make in this new chapter of the school’s history are supported by the whole school community. I am determined to build upon my existing knowledge of the school, pupils, staff and parents to further raise standards and continue to move the school forward to become excellent.

Parents make an important contribution to children’s achievements at school, and I want to develop the relationship between the school and parents for everyone’s benefit. Children will have the opportunity to flourish and thrive at Gorton Primary School.

PM – 12.30pm – 3.30 pm

EYFS/KS1/KS2 Opening hours:

Day – 8.50am – 3.15pm
