In year 2M we love to read everyday!
We take home a reading book once a week on a Friday and this is to be returned on a Wednesday.
One lucky member of our class will be chosen to take home our class reading suitcase and teddy on a Friday.
Year 2M do P.E every Monday and children bring P.E kits to school on this day.
Class Dojo is used to record our achievements and we earn dojo points for our excellent learning.
We celebrated the Queens Jubilee in school with our friends and teachers.
Throughout the week we made wonderful posters, wrote letters to the Queen and created cards to send to her. We had lots of fun creative lessons, the toilet roll soldiers were our favourite. We also joined in with an online live drawing sessions and drew the most amazing Queens and corgis.
On the last day we had a whole school party! We made crowns or tiaras, played party games, had a picnic dinner and created flags. We had lots and lots of fun.
We had an amazing party celebrating Eid with both year 2 classes. We thank our parents for providing scrumptious homemade cooked food. We enjoyed dancing to music and learning about the Islam festival.
For our exit point in IPC, we went on a school trip on Friday 22nd April to the Runway Visitor Park at Manchester Airport. We went inside the cabin of a DC10 aircraft and role played situations and jobs at the airport. We identified parts of an aeroplane and looked at examples of different aircrafts. We even got the chance to visit the flight deck. We loved watching all the aircrafts take off on their journeys from the airport.
This terms reading day theme was “Knights and Fairy taleS”.
We started our day in a whole school assembly where we were able to see everybody’s costumes. Everybody looked amazing! We have been looking at the story “The Princess and the Pea”. We have been making predictions on what we think will happen next in the story, used Twitter to send questions to the author, Mini Grey, a word hunt for ‘ea’ sounds and been creating mattress art.
We also had a ‘teacher swap’ where we were lucky to have Mrs Hunter, who was dressed as a dragon from Year 3 read us a story. We loved it!
Please see our slide show for our amazing costumes!
