We are delighted your family are considering joining Gorton Primary School this September.
With places available in Nursery and Reception, what an exciting time to join us.
All of our staff share a commitment to building better futures for local children. The Vantage Academy Trust family includes schools in Bolton, Knowsley and Greater Manchester – including St James Church of England Primary in Gorton – and has a strong track record of achieving school improvement and providing inspiring teaching and learning to its pupils.
To give you an example of this focus, since joining the Vantage Trust family in 2015, our partner school in Gorton, St James, has achieved significant improvement in its Key Stage 2 results, with 79% of pupils achieving level 4+ in Reading, Writing and Maths. Recently inspected by Ofsted, the school was rated ‘Good’ with Early Years and Leadership receiving ‘Outstanding’ judgements. Local families are benefitting greatly from Vantage Academy Trust.
Miss Rhian Williams, Principal at St James is the Principal of Gorton Primary School.

Chief Executive Officer, Simon Bramwell OBE, shares his vision for Gorton Primary School:
“We are delighted that the great work and improvements already achieved at St James have been recognised and that we have been entrusted to work with the local community to develop a new school for Gorton. This new school will be at the heart of the community, and will benefit from strong partnerships with both St James and with the exceptional teachers and other staff working across the wider Vantage trust. We are determined to give children in Gorton the very best start in life and I am looking forward to working with parents, staff, children and the community to make that a reality in the years to come.”
We look forward to welcoming your family to Gorton Primary School.
