Vantage Multi Academy Trust already sponsors schools in Bolton, Knowsley and Greater Manchester – including St James Church of England Primary in Gorton – and has a strong track record of achieving school improvement and providing inspiring teaching and learning to its pupils. Indeed, since joining the Vantage trust in 2015, St James has achieved significant improvement in its key stage 2 results, with 79% of pupils achieving level 4+ in reading, writing and maths. A recent inspection of St James by the Church of England found that “teaching and learning are of the highest quality.

Executive Headteacher, Simon Bramwell, said: “We are delighted that the great work and improvements already achieved at St James have been recognised and that we have been entrusted to work with the local community to develop a new school for Gorton. This new school will be at the heart of the community, and will benefit from strong partnerships with both St James and with the exceptional teachers and other staff working across the wider Vantage trust. We are determined to give children in Gorton the very best start in life and I am looking forward to working with parents, staff, children and the community to make that a reality in the years to come.”

“We are really looking forward to the new school, if you are as excited as us and would like to apply for admission, please contact us and we will be happy to keep your information on record, but we are unable to contact you until we are in a position to offer places.”
